The right hotel, the right weekend

The NPA calendar lists the Midwest 36th Pawn Convention for May 14–17, 2027 at The Westin Indianapolis, 241 W. Washington Street. The organizer still displays its previous show details and asks visitors to check back for 2027 information. Confirm registration, the final agenda and room-block dates before making nonrefundable plans. This is a pawn-industry event, not a public shopping fair.

Use the downtown address when booking transport. Do not confuse this hotel with the separate Westin airport hotel development. For event updates, visit PSS’s Midwest convention page.

Choose your airport transfer

Taxi or rideshare: the practical choice for several bags, a late arrival or a tight check-in window. Enter the full hotel name and Washington Street address.

IndyGo Route 8: a lower-cost option if your arrival fits its timetable and you are comfortable handling luggage on a local bus, followed by a downtown walk.

Rental car: consider one for trips beyond downtown. If your itinerary is airport, hotel and convention, compare two airport transfers against rental charges and several days of hotel parking before reserving.

Taxi and rideshare: where to go at IND

For a taxi, follow signs to the lower terminal level outside Baggage Claim. The airport’s taxi station has a green call button. Check the fare arrangements before leaving; an airport minimum is not a flat downtown fare.

For Uber or Lyft, walk to the Ground Transportation Center on the first floor of the Terminal Garage, then follow the app’s pickup instructions. Request the ride when your group and bags are ready. On the return trip, the airport says rideshare vehicles may drop passengers at the main terminal. Traffic and demand change both prices and journey times, so use a live quote.

IndyGo Route 8 and the final walk

Route 8–Washington connects Indianapolis International Airport with downtown as a local, non-express service. Follow airport ground-transportation signs to the bus boarding area and confirm the downtown direction with the operator. Use IndyGo’s trip planner for your actual arrival date; do not rely on an old printed airport timetable.

A straightforward downtown reference point is the Julia M. Carson Transit Center, 201 E. Washington Street, at Washington and Delaware. From there, follow Washington Street west toward the hotel at 241 W. Washington Street, crossing at marked signals. This address-to-address approach is a planning suggestion, not a verified step-free route; check current pedestrian directions and construction conditions before starting with luggage.

IndyGo currently lists a $2.75 full-fare two-hour ticket and $6 daily fare cap when using MyKey+, checked October 11, 2026. Recheck payment options and fares before your 2027 visit.

Driving, parking and access needs

Airport rental counters are in the Ground Transportation Center on the first floor of the Terminal Garage. Save the downtown hotel address before leaving, and check your rental company’s return location and fuel requirements.

The Westin offers on-site parking and valet, but its published parking figures are inconsistent. Ask the hotel for the current total, in-and-out privileges and vehicle-height limits before committing. The hotel does not provide an airport shuttle.

For mobility needs, confirm the hotel’s accessible entrance and room features directly. If you need a wheelchair-accessible transfer, reserve the suitable vehicle ahead of arrival. IndyGo Access is a separate eligibility-based, reservation service; contact IndyGo about visitor arrangements before relying on it.

A meal without another journey

Ten Hands Social Bar & Eatery is inside the Westin and serves an American menu, including pizza. Ten Hands Market offers coffee and snacks. These are convenient options between sessions or after check-in; check opening hours and reserve for a group once the convention timetable is settled. No separate transport is needed.

Plan the return before your final session

For the airport bus, recheck the westbound Route 8 trip specifically serving Indianapolis Airport. Confirm the stop or transit-center bay on the day; the return boarding point need not be the place you arrived. Leave room for a missed bus, luggage handling and your airline’s airport-arrival guidance.

If driving, the airport’s published downtown approach uses I-70 West, exit 68, then Col. H. Weir Cook Memorial Drive. Follow terminal or rental-return signs as appropriate. Ask the hotel about luggage storage if checkout comes before your last meeting.
