Confirm the event before booking
Checked October 11, 2026: the Canadian Pawn Association advertises October 23–25, 2026 at Chelsea Hotel, Toronto, but its official event page also displays an ‘Event Concluded’ message. Confirm the event, registration and hotel availability directly with the association before paying for travel. The advertised September 19 hotel-booking deadline has passed; do not assume a convention room rate remains available.
This airport-to-hotel guide also works for an ordinary Chelsea stay. See the official Expo page and PSS event listing before making plans.
Choose your arrival route
Chelsea Hotel lists its address as 22 Elm Street, Toronto. Its garage entrance is around the corner at 33 Gerrard Street West, which is also the address used on the Expo page. Use the hotel name and confirm the desired entrance with your driver.
- Pearson (YYZ), manageable bags: UP Express to Union Station, then the subway or a taxi for the final leg.
- Pearson, several bags or limited walking: consider a licensed airport taxi directly to the hotel.
- Billy Bishop (YTZ): pedestrian tunnel to the mainland, then the complimentary Union Station shuttle or a direct ground transfer.
From Pearson: train, then the last mile
The UP Express station is at Terminal 1 beside the Terminal Link connection. From Terminal 3, follow signs for Terminal Link to reach Terminal 1. Board an UP Express train for Union Station; check current operating hours and service alerts before relying on the train for an early or late flight.
At Union, follow signs to the TTC subway. Take Line 1 northbound toward Finch, via Yonge to TMU Station, formerly Dundas. Both branches head north from Union, so check the destination before boarding. From the Yonge/Dundas area, walk north on Yonge Street, then west on Elm Street to Chelsea. With heavy luggage, a taxi from Union avoids another station transfer and street walk.
Check UP payment options and the TTC fare separately when budgeting; buying an airport-train ticket does not mean you have purchased a subway ticket.
From Pearson: a direct car
Use Pearson’s designated licensed taxi or limousine stands on the arrivals curb. Airport-licensed vehicles offer flat fares to Toronto destinations; ask the attendant for the current fare to Chelsea before departure. Follow the airport’s official pickup directions, rather than accepting an unsolicited ride inside the terminal. Accessible vehicles can be requested at the limousine stands. Road traffic makes a fixed airport-to-hotel arrival promise unreliable.
From Billy Bishop: tunnel and shuttle
Follow the pedestrian tunnel to the mainland. The complimentary airport shuttle boards outside the mainland passenger-tunnel access building and connects with the Union Station area. Continue by TTC toward Finch to TMU, as above, or take a car for the hotel connection. Check the shuttle’s current stop and timetable; it does not deliver passengers directly to Chelsea.
Accessibility, bags and a meal break
UP Express provides luggage storage and accessible travel information. Union and TMU subway stations are listed as accessible, but elevator availability can change: check the TMU station access page and Union alerts on your travel day. Billy Bishop’s shuttle has a ramp and wheelchair securement area. Request any assistance you need in advance.
Ask Chelsea about bag storage before check-in or after checkout; do not assume availability or that valuable business materials are covered. For an uncomplicated meal, the hotel currently lists The Elm Tavern and Branches Deli. Check opening hours and whether your confirmed convention registration includes scheduled meals before making additional reservations.
Plan the return before the final session
Confirm whether your flight leaves YYZ or YTZ. For Pearson, return to Union for UP Express; add time for the walk through Union and a Terminal Link transfer if departing Terminal 3. For Billy Bishop, confirm the downtown shuttle stop, then allow time to cross the tunnel and reach airline check-in. Work backward from your airline’s recommended airport-arrival time, including bag collection, connections and a disruption buffer. An event’s finishing time is not an airport departure time.
