JIS Miami Beach Travel Guide: Airports, Convention Center and the Final Walk
Get from MIA or Fort Lauderdale Airport to Miami Beach Convention Center for JIS, with West Lobby arrival, parking and hotel-planning advice.

Which show and which destination?
JIS Fall runs October 16–19, 2026; JIS Spring runs March 7–9, 2027, at Miami Beach Convention Center. Use 1901 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, FL 33139 as the venue address. Miami Beach is a separate destination from downtown Miami; a hotel advertised simply as “Miami” may involve a daily causeway trip.
JIS is a jewelry trade event. Pawnbrokers can qualify, but attendance requires the organizer’s approval and documentation. Complete that process before committing to a trip. Details checked October 11, 2026; confirm your edition’s arrival instructions before departure.
MIA: bus value or a direct car
From Miami International Airport (MIA), the budget route is the free MIA Mover to Miami Airport Station, followed by Route 150 Miami Beach Airport Express. A taxi, ride app or prebooked transfer is worth comparing for several travelers, substantial luggage or a late arrival. Enter your hotel’s full address if dropping bags first; otherwise specify the event entrance as well as the convention center.
The final walk matters more than the nearest-looking stop
Route 150 reaches Miami Beach, but do not assume it drops you at registration. Ask the current Miami-Dade journey planner for the venue address and inspect the walking leg. Choose a stop that works with your luggage, mobility and the entrance used by your show. Stops and detours can change; we have deliberately not treated an old stop number as a guaranteed event-day instruction.
For JIS Fall, the organizer’s current FAQ directs attendees to registration in the West Lobby. Aim for the Convention Center Drive side and follow JIS signage. Recheck Spring’s own badge instructions rather than assuming the identical lobby arrangement.
Flying into Fort Lauderdale? Compare the whole trip
Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL) can be useful if its flights suit you better, but compare the transfer before booking. A direct car avoids multiple connections. The public-transport option starts with FLL’s free shuttle to the Fort Lauderdale Airport Tri-Rail station at Dania Beach; rail still leaves an onward journey to Miami Beach.
Use our FLL to Miami and Miami Beach guide to compare the choices. Neither an airport rail station nor downtown MiamiCentral is the convention center. Check the exact train destination and complete onward route before purchasing tickets, particularly after an evening arrival.
Driving and drop-offs: save both addresses
The convention center lists garage access from 1901 Convention Center Drive on the west side and 2000 Washington Avenue on the east. JIS Fall’s FAQ specifically lists 2000 Washington Avenue for the parking-garage entrance and instructs drivers to follow JIS signs to the West Lobby. A garage entrance and pedestrian registration entrance serve different purposes; save both pins if driving.
Check the venue’s current parking page for rates, hours and alternatives. Allow for parking, walking and badge pickup rather than arriving at the garage when your first appointment begins. For a pickup afterward, agree on a legal, clearly identified curb with your driver.
Choose a hotel for the working day
We would compare the full walking route to the convention center before paying more for an oceanfront address. A nearby hotel can make it easier to return between appointments or collect luggage on departure day. If staying farther away, check the City of Miami Beach trolley routes or price a daily car journey; neither should be assumed to operate on your personal meeting timetable.
For lunch, the venue identifies the surrounding Lincoln Road area and its on-campus Rum Room as dining options. Check opening hours and the walk against your actual break. Do not build a tight buyer appointment around an unverified restaurant wait.
Before leaving the hotel
Carry your registration confirmation and the original government-issued photo identification required by JIS. Keep purchases, samples and business documents manageable for the return journey. Ask your hotel about luggage storage before checkout; convention-center bag storage is not something to assume. Review the current show’s badge, bag and entry policies separately from your transport plan.
